Sadly, I have been to several funerals in my life. I've seen Bishops, Cardinals, and Vicar Generals. It has been pretty amazing to be part of such a celebration. This weekend a family friend passed away and she was a nurse for over 30 years. After the Funeral and before going to the cemetery there was a Nightingale Tribute. About 9 women in a traditional nurse clothing conducted by the Nurse Honor Guard gave a powerful heartfelt poem, a final roll call, and the ceremonial release of the nurse from their duties. It was so emotional and so moving.
